Bruiser Theatre Company is delighted to announce its new pilot project, ‘Sharing Festival’, a new performance opportunity which demonstrates the excellence and highest standard of practical work across Northern Ireland schools. We welcome schools studying the Bruiser style, techniques and ethos to apply to perform in a showcase of devising and performance excellence.
STAGE ONE
Open September 2023 - March 2024
For £300 each post-primary school can apply with a maximum of three groups (Additional groups can be entered at £50/each)
An in-progress video of each performance piece must be uploaded by 1st March 2024 (Each piece should be at least 50% complete at this stage)
Each participating school will receive:
A two-hour workshop with Bruiser
Feedback & development notes from the Bruiser team
Ongoing support and mentorship throughout year
STAGE TWO
Participating groups will be shortlisted, and a select group of finalists will be invited to perform their piece at a showcase performance event at the Stranmillas Theatre, Belfast on 20th April 2024
Each successful group progressing onto Stage Two will be notified on 1st April 2024, allowing them time to refine their pieces ahead of the showcase event
Successful groups will receive:
A performance opportunity at the showcase event
A video recording of the showcase performance and photo opportunities
The opportunity to become a Bruiser Affiliated School
The opportunity to compete for 'Bruiser School of the Year' and other awards, such as 'Best Ensemble' and 'Best Individual Performer'
