The Lectures
There are six pre-recorded lectures on offer through the Bruiser Digital Handbook:
​
1. The Bruiser Approach and Ethos
An insight into Bruiser’s style and approach to theatre, led by our Artistic Director.
​
2. Music in Theatre
A lecture from Musical Director Matthew Reeve on the history of music in theatre, and how it can heighten drama.
​
3. Chorus and Choreography
A lecture on the history of Chorus and Choreography, and how it is used as a fundamental element of the Bruiser style.
​
4. Improvisation and Physicality
An exploration of physicality and improvisation, led by Rob Crawford.
​
5. Sound Effects and Literalising Text
A lecture on how Sound Effects and Literalising Text have been used in past productions, and how they can be effectively applied to any text in order to realise it in the Bruiser style.
​
6. Script Analysis, Context and Character
An exploration of Script Analysis, Context and Character - Outlining ways in which students can enhance their performance, bringing a fully rounded character to life on stage.
The Workshops
In addition to the lectures, we have recorded five 45-minute workshops on:
• The Bruiser Approach and Ethos
• Chorus and Choreography
• Improvisation and Physicality
• Sound Effects and Literalising Text
• Script Analysis, Context and Character

These workshops show how different games and exercises can be used to explore these elements of the Bruiser style practically in the classroom/rehearsals.
​
These can either be watched by the teacher to help them design sessions using these workshop plans, or watched by students to see how Bruiser go about using exercises in the development and exploration of their work.

The Excite package consists of all six 45-50 minute recorded lectures with accompanying student-friendly lecture notes. This package provides video content that will excite your students by giving them a taste of Bruiser’s practice.

ENGAGE - £600
