Meet The Cast: Karl O'Neill | Chausible

 Karl O'Neill was born in Armagh, and last appeared at the MAC in Cabaret and Bruiser’s production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle. His other work in Belfast includes The Wizard of Oz, Shadowlands, Twelfth Night, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, Hansel & Grettel, and Red (all of which were in the Lyric Theatre); The Haunting of Helena Blunden (Big Telly); and All My Sons (Arts Theatre). 

Karl has also played in Carol’s Christmas (Theatre at The Mill), Pinocchio and Hansel & Grettel (Armagh’s Marketplace Theatre). Now based in Dublin, Karl’s recent theatre work there includes The Constant Wife, Juno and the Paycock, Wuthering Heights, and An Ideal Husband (all at Gate Theatre), The Importance of Being Honest (Bewleys Theatre) and Mary Stuart (Pageant Wagon). 
 
Other theatre credits includes Molly Sweeney and The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Library, Manchester); The Shaughraun and Big Maggie (Abbey Theatre); Shadow & Substance (Druid); Tarry Flynn and Macbeth (Tivoli). 
 
As well as his stage roles, Karl's screen work include: The Professor and The Madman, Ripper Street, Life of Crime, Betrayal of Trust, Primeval, A Shine of Rainbows, The Tudors, Marie Curie: More Than Meets The Eye, and Fair City. 
 
Karl is the author of a children’s book The Most Beautiful Letter In The World, and RTE has produced his radio plays Think Well, O Singer (with Ciaran Hinds and Brenda Blethyn), Three Our Fathers (starring Andrew Scott), and 12 Stones In The Water, about Armagh’s infamous Green Lady murderess – a stage production is coming closer...!
