Dates: Monday 21st July - Thursday 31st July 2008

Earlier this year young hopefuls auditioned throughout the province to become Bruiser students. They needed talent, enthusiasm and motivation.

The successful candidates completed a rigorous rehearsal period, learning a variety of physical theatre and vocal techniques under the excellent tuition of Lisa May & Ross Anderson. These budding thespians got to grips with the visually exciting, rhythmic and choreographic elements for which Bruiser is renowned. The focus of this showcase performance was ensemble playing, choral technique and physical precision.

The Summer School provided professional development in the theatre for young people, offering a taste of what it would be like to be a professional actor. Being a Bruiser actor is not easy, as our exhausted students can testify, but the cast of young “Bruiserites” rose to the challenge superbly.

This project would not have been possible without the assistance from the Old Museum Arts Centre and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland National Lottery Fund. We sincerely thank them for their support.
