Bruiser Graduate Academy 2011

  • Dates: 15th - 25th August 2011

The Queen's University of Belfast.

Continuing Bruiser's commitment to nurture home-grown talent, Bruiser in association with Queen's University, Belfast, continued its acclaimed Graduate Academy programme in 2011. Places were available for students considering the continuation of study at University or Drama School, those already studying, or those who had graduated in the Performing Arts. Academy students worked closely with Artistic Director, Lisa May of Bruiser Theatre Company, to explore the highly stylised, ensemble nature of her work. Assistant Director Ross Anderson provided high quality 'Estill' voice training. Practical workshops included a rounded skill based enhancement programme, focusing on movement, vocal range, text analysis and devising, practical advice on headshots, audition techniques, career paths, creating a winning CV, self employment and the opportunity of working with other prominent theatre directors / casting agents.

Graduate Academy 2011.

This ten day Academy resulted in a performance showcase at Queen's University, for an invited audience of Artistic Directors, casting agents and acting agencies (as well as friends and families), with the hope that the students would find an agent, or gain employment from this event.
